I’m sure you’re wondering who I am and if it’s a good idea to work with me and my firm. So let me give you some background on my experiences and career to date.

I’m originally a journalist by trade and started working with financial advisors back in 2008. I created my company, SEO4Advisors, in 2010 after two years at an established firm where I helped manage continuing education webinars and create useful website content for advisors. I have always focused on search engine optimization as my core service because I believe it is essential and also a great opportunity for independent advisors. I’m a continuous learner and, over the past decade as SEO has evolved and incorporated so many areas of online marketing, I’ve spent countless hours learning as much as I could in all areas of online marketing including pay per click, social media, and the many technological subtleties around building a really well performing website. 

Along the way, I moved to Chile, continuing to work remotely for my advisor clients. There I worked on a few ventures that vastly accelerated my knowledge of company building. And what a ride it was. In 2014, I build a travel startup called Voyhoy that in only three years grew to nearly 1 million monthly visitors, mostly through free traffic gained from our focus on search engine optimization. I finished top of my class at Founder Institute, the intensive global business incubator with a 30% graduation rate, and was honored to be named one of the Top-10 Entrepreneurs in the country by the 15,000-member Entrepreneurs Association of Chile. Less than two years later, my company became the first Chile-based startup to graduate from the prestigious Techstars business accelerator and we had launched in 6 countries in Latin America. 

Building a travel startup is hard work and we were eventually unable to raise the tens of millions of dollars we needed to stay competitive with many deep-pocketed international corporations in the sector. So I went back to business in the financial advisor space with a renewed focus and a whole lot of new knowledge for how I could help. 

Top Ranked Advisor is the continuation of my original company, with a special focus on using the best technology systems to get even better results. I started TRA in 2020 with a longtime friend and industry associate Brent Carnduff, founder of Advisor Web Marketing. Today I have a team of really skilled developers and support staff from around the world and I bring in expert consultants to help in their areas of expertise whenever needed.
